(1)Pre-Application and Admission Requirements

  • (a).Has a letter from the Provost of NTNU specifically stating that the student has completed requirements to receive a degree from NTNU; and that NTNU is fully supportive of the student entering the CDP between NTNU and MU.
     
  • (b).Will provide an application form, curriculum vitae, study plan, NTNU transcript and at least 2 recommendation letters from NTNU departmental faculty.
     
  • (c).Will finish all required courses towards the baccalaureate degree at NTNU (normally during the first three years of their NTNU undergraduate degree program) before enrolling in CDP.
     
  • (d).Has established that course offerings available at MU and the participating CDP Master’s degree programs are compatible with her/his academic goals.
     
  • (e).Has fulfilled an average score of 3.5 GPA academic performance at NTNU, and adequate proficiency in the English language [i.e., 80 TOEFL (Internet-based) (recommended score of 100 TOEFL for clinical training purpose); IELTS 6.5 or Duolingo 105, exceptions to the scores will be made on a case-to-case basis]
     
  • (f).Has no disciplinary action pending at NTNU.

(2)Registration and Enrollment Requirements

  • (a).Thirty six (36) to forty eight (48) credit hours in course work must be taken at MU as required in the MU counseling psychology Master’s degree program of study, including a broad range of applied experiences (e.g., group counseling, workshops, career coaching, practica as available) but excluding thesis credits. At least 15 credits must be at the 8000 level or above (i.e., graduate level courses only).
     
  • (b).Students seeking licensure in Taiwan as a counseling psychologist must meet the minimum academic requirements for licensure in Taiwan, including successfully completing a full year internship under a licensed counseling psychologist.
     
  • (c).Each student must pass a final examination at MU to demonstrate mastery of fundamental principles of the work.
     
  • (d).ESCP will provide scholarships to offset costs to EPC students accepted into this program, the scholarship amounts may vary from year-to-year. The amount of said scholarships will be determined and communicated to NTNU point of contact person during the recruitment period on an annual basis.
     
  • (e).Each EPC student will be assigned an academic advisor, and they will meet periodically to discuss academic matters and any other issues and concerns.
     
  • (f).Students will enroll for 1 to 2 credits across at least 2 semesters of research in which they will work closely with a faculty mentor as a part of their training; and
     
  • (g).Students will receive support from the department and the College of Education Office of Global Engagement to facilitate their cultural transition as international students; and to develop a meaningful understanding of U.S. culture while enhancing their own cultural adaptability and comprehension of the role that culture and cultural contexts play in psychology.
     
  • (h).Opportunities to experience American culture (e.g., formal and informal settings and arrangements, seminars, etc.);

(3)Tuition and Fees

  • (a).EPC students will be responsible for their application fees, tuition fees, and student fees, as well as their living costs. ESCP will provide scholarships to offset costs to EPC students accepted into this program, the scholarship amounts may vary from year-to-year. The amount of said scholarships will be determined and communicated to NTNU point of contact person during the recruitment period on an annual basis.
     
  • (b).In addition, while EPC students are at MU, EPC students must pay MU non-resident educational tuition and NTNU computer and Student Insurance fees (to NTNU).
